Anything Engine/Performance/Tuning related / Will normal paint work?
« on: February 14, 2014, 06:27:07 PM »
I want to paint my alternator, some other parts and maybe my UIM.

But will normal paint hold up?
Or does it need heat resistant paint?

Thanks :D

3rd generation RX-7's / vacuum system simplification question.
« on: February 11, 2014, 05:46:41 PM »
Hi guys,

Next week i am going to do the vacuum job.
My car: 93 touring. Stock ecu. Other then a other rear muffler all stock.

But i want to simplify my vacuum system.
Here in the netherlands i dont need emisions so why not cut some things away.

Now i have seen a few "simplifid diagrams.
But what can i cut without putting blockoff plates etc. because i dont have them. Dont want to go that far but maybe some things can be left away?

Anything Engine/Performance/Tuning related / Vacuum hoses. Which and where?
« on: November 21, 2013, 10:05:41 PM »
Hi guys.
This winter i want to replace my vacuum system on my stock \'92 touring.

Searched allot on the internet and found some different stories....

Most say take silicon hoses.

First which size hoses do i need? Some say 4 and 6mm. But some other kits in the usa contains 7 different sizes....
And what kind of lenght?

And where can i get some good hoses in this area? Most kits come from the usa.... And most of the silicon vacuum hoses i can find here have a wall thickniss of 2mm. That seem\'s a little thin...

Do any off you have experiences with Samco vacuum hoses? A good brand. But are they any good?
And the 6mm hose seems to be 6.3mm on the samco. I don\'t now if that\'s a problem?

General Technical / FD Engine cutting out/ limp mode.
« on: November 06, 2013, 08:19:05 PM »
Hi guys.
Havving some problems with my RX 7 FD
First some information off my car.
\'92 FD Touring. Jap import.
51000 km on the clocks and engine is standart. It only has a other rear muffler.

Never had any probles with it on the 2 years i own it. Untill a few weeks ago.

We where going to a meet nearby. Started the car and drove it to the highway slowly as always. (10 mins drive)
When going on the highway shifted slowly) up and in the 3rd gear on about 2200-2500 rpm the engine started cutting out..... time after time.. So looked under the bonnet of there was something lose but coulded see anything.
The engine didnt sound weird and drove good.
So treid it again.
First and 2nd gear no problems. At the 3rd the same cut. And around the 4500-5000 rpm it does the same in 4th and 5th gear.
The engine just cuts out and i a can push the gaspedal to the floor but nothings happens until it drops about 500rpm and then it revs up.
If i rev it up in 2nd gear to lets say 4500 rpm and then put it in the 3rd then there is no problem. As long as it is above the 2500 rpm and above the 5000 rpm.

Brought it to the dealer and they checked it. They maybe thougt it was the ECU. Putted a other ECU in and the problems where gone.... But that ECU was a european ECU.
So i order a JDM ecu with a guy here in holland. Putted it in and the same problems.....
Now i have tested other JDM ecu\'s and with all the ecu\'s there are the same problems....
So i think it is not the ECU.
But what can it be?
Maybe you guys have a sollution?
Maybe vacuum?

Oh yeah on the same thime the problems started my odo meter stopt working on the dash. Maybe a coincidence??

Long story sorry and i hope you understand it ( my englisch write isnt that good. ) :Giggle

Wanted Items / heater controls fd
« on: August 08, 2013, 03:38:05 PM »

Only need the controls and the box that\'s behind it and not the plastic dash surround. Can be brought to Rotorstock. A few friends are comming to the event and can pick it up.

Thanks :cool

Wanted Items / RFL blowoff or FurboXS dealer
« on: July 20, 2013, 06:12:11 AM »
Hi guys.
I am looking for a RFL Type H blowoff from turboxs for my FD.
Does anybody has them on sale?
Or is there a shop/dealer who sells them in the uk?

Last weekend i fitted my new wheels and a HKS hipermax2 coiloverset on my FD.
Fitted the Advan RS 18x9jx35 all around. Tires are 18"-255-35.
Bought the set from a friend off mine who had them on his evo9.

Now i have a few problems.
On the rear no problems. No rubbing at all and the tire slides a few mm behind the fender.
The problems are in the front. The tires are to wide. And costandly rubbing the wheelliner. If i drive over a little rock then it hits the inner fender. Now i removed the bolt that holds the inner fender for more clearance. That helps a little. But the front tires has to be smaller.

Now what size do i need? go to a 245 or maybe 235?
and if i take a 235 will i need a 18-235-35 or 18-235-40 tire?  Because its gonna stretch a little offcourse. so the height of the tire will be less. But i dont want to much different with the rear tire. But maybe a 235-40 will rub also.
Whats your idea guys?

Second queston is about the hks hipermax2 coilover set. Its not stiff anough. I dont now if you guys have experiences with them but when i get in the car, the car lowers about 1.5 cm.......and thats to much.
I had diabled the coilovers and made some new rings. On the top off the springs there was a number. On the front a 7 and on the rear a 6.
I turned the rebound on full lock but then the car rises very slow upwards...

We got allot of speedbumps down here so it has to be a stiff suspension if i want to go low with the car.

Can you help me?

3rd generation RX-7's / Few questions about aircon and rear speakers
« on: January 31, 2013, 10:38:11 AM »
Hi all.
I have a \'92 touring fd.
It has climate control but its broken and after many searching on the net i found out that all the climate controls get broken and there are almost no replacement part for it. So we decided to switch it to a normal airo unit. Bu after removing the climate control panel we found out that the wires are different......
Do we have to replace the hole wire loom in the dashboard?
And are there other things different?  Such as the heater or so?
I will need a new front panel i know that.

And my touring has no rear speakers but a little space  for storage.
Now i wanted to convert it into speakers but can i just pull the storage bins out and replace them with the speakersl brackets and mesh?
Or has the hole sidepanel has to be replaced?

Thanks for reading.

Hi guys.
My rear window seal is broken and the bootlid needs a respray. Can i mount the new window seal with the window still in it after it got a respray?
And where\'s the best adress to get a window seal? Here in holland it is around 165 euro....:yes
