Rotary and General Chit-Chat / Calling web designers?
« on: March 22, 2009, 06:54:05 PM »
Hi all,

How\'s it going? Hope all is well in the rotary world!

I\'m looking to build a basic website for a friend of mine, and I\'m thinking about a Joomla site or a good CMS site.

Anyone got any tips?

Have you used Joomla? any good? secure? anything better out there?  Needs to be easy to use for a novice to update etc.

Many thanks!

Rotary and General Chit-Chat / Best PS3 Force Feedback steering wheel?
« on: November 07, 2008, 08:51:14 PM »
Hi all!!!

How\'s it going?

Long time no post :)

For you PS3 users/players out there, what is the best steering wheel to get?

I play GT5 a bit, may get an F1 game?  Any other really good quality car games?  I purchased GRID the other day - but the steering etc. is rubbish compared to GT5.

Thanks in advance!!!!

Rotary and General Chit-Chat / Race of Champions
« on: December 17, 2007, 06:38:06 AM »
Hi all,
Just came back from the new Wembley - quite an amazing stadium to say the least :)
Was an interesting night, we found our seats after some wandering around, then just happened to be 5 meters away from:
Coulthard, Vettel, Schumacher, Button, Kovalainen, and a bunch of other greats (from F1, Touring cars, Nascar, Le Mans, etc.) - all standing there saying their hello\'s to the crowd.
Didn\'t quite realise until right near the end, but we were sitting next to Kovalainen\'s family all night, his girlfriend too ;)  He also had the biggest crash of the night in an Aston Martin (well it looked good, but wasn\'t that bad)
Button\'s dad was close by, Hamilton\'s dad was there also.
I think there were around 40,000 people there - which was a little disapointing as we were told it was sold out.
Was pretty awesome to watch, it is only a short track but the cars are quick around it.  There are around 5 different types of cars that they all race/share RWD and 4WD.
Highlight was Schumacher in the final, losing it under pressure on the last corner (was behind anyway - pic. below), and Ekstrom winning (2nd year in a row).
They had a couple of demo cars there going round (pics. below), but for some reason they didn\'t bring the Red Bull F1\'s out which was a bummer!

New world? record set...

> FD RX-7
> 13B Turbo (not sure on fuel, assuming it is methanol)
> G-Force
> Just recently been converted to a 9 inch solid axel rear end - but NOT tubbed!
> 28x9 inch slick tyre

Also I\'m pretty sure it is a new world record for an untubbed FD.

Ross - with the right rear end/transmission in place, this could be you! :)

MRC News / Google Ads now at the bottom of the forum
« on: March 14, 2007, 10:33:09 AM »
Hi all,

As another revenue raiser for the Club, we have now added Google Ads to the bottom of the forum.

Each time a link is clicked on at the bottom of the Forum it will raise funds for the Club.  We are unsure exactly how much revenue will be raised as we haven\'t used it before - we should know over the coming months.

It also serves another purpose in that it will help raise MRC on Search engine listings.

MRC News / Changes to the Club Classifieds section (Private Sales)
« on: March 07, 2007, 02:21:01 PM »
To all,

As per mazdarotaryclub.com\'s AGM held in January 2007, we are going to implement changes by tomorrow (Thursday 8th March 2007).

NEW THREAD MODERATION:
All New \'For Sale\' Threads will be Moderated ensuring they comply with the Club Terms and Conditions and new Template format.

NEW MODERATION QUEUE:
These new ads will be held in a NEW Temporary \'Club Classifieds Ad Submission area\' for a period of 1 week, before then being moved out into the Public (existing) Club Classifieds Area.

Therefore anyone wishing to Advertise their Vehicle, or Vehicle Parts will only be able to Post New Threads into this new Club Classifieds Ad Submission area, \'MRC Guests\' will only be able to view and reply to their own new Threads for 1 week – until it will be moved out into the Public area. However Full Club Members will be able to view ALL ads placed into this new area once they are Moderated/Approved.

Any new Ad Submissions by MRC Full Club Members will be available for viewing once Moderated within that 1 week period.

No New Threads will be allowed to be posted into the existing Club Classifieds section (all New Threads will go through the new Ad Submission process), Reply\'s will be allowed in the existing section.

NEW AD TEMPLATE:
We will also be implementing a New Template that all New Threads will have to comply to, before being Moderated/Approved. Instructions will be provided within the new section.

Thanks and REgards,
The mazdarotaryclub.com Team
