I'm interested if this falls through.

I live in South Cambs so easy for me to pick up.

Hi Lisa,

The tickets arrived by email on Saturday from Phil TEST [].

After waiting for the tickets to come through, I checked my account and noticed the order never went through. I had ordered one adult club ticket and one child ticket for £18 using the club password.  I see it is too late to try and book club tickets.

Is there any way I can get into the MRC area now and onto the RX7 parade lap?

Just booked. I'll bring along a standard 2000 RS but will have to leave my rotary mx5 at home.

Insuring your rotary / Towergate / Competition Car Insurance

I've been using Competition Car Insurance (= Towergate, Underwriter = Aviva) for the last two years.  Quotes was £296.50 for my 2000 RS (no mods). Best quote for a long time, includes 5 track days.

Rotary and General Chit-Chat / Re: street ported 192?
« on: October 20, 2015, 09:13:56 AM »

My rotary mx5 was 190rwhp before street porting, 210rwhp afterwards. (231 13B-MSP).

Porting was done by BDC motorsports, engine built by WGT.  Intake/exhaust was all custom.

Andrew at Jimmys (Norwich) also has one for sale, very low miles.

General Technical / Re: Which is the "best" 13b engine in theory?

WGT did a lot of work on my MX5 rotary conversion, experimenting with different intake/exhaust options. With a stock, freshly built 13B-MSP (6-port) with custom intake/exhaust/ECU, it did around 210bhp on their dyno. (standard RX8's were only 170bhp on their dyno).

A light street port by BDC motorsports and revised exhaust got that up to 240bhp.

My understanding is that the 13B-MSP 6-port is the best one without forced induction.

>how have you found the MX5 with rotary power?

Handles basically the same but the engine is a bit lower and lighter than standard so that helps.

If you stay under 4500prm, it feels like a normal MX5. But get to go all the way up to 9500rpm and there, it has the same power to weight as my FD3S (and no turbo lag).

I was fed up with the rough sound of a 4-pot in my MX5, I much prefer rotary smoothness :)

Any idea if any of the rotary specialist garages would want to take on such a project?

WGT Auto developments converted my MX5 to rotary (RX8 engine).

3rd generation RX-7's / RX7 needed for TV show
« on: March 17, 2014, 08:23:31 AM »
As you may have guessed, the show is Wheeler Dealers. The date of the RX7 episode has been announced as March 31st on Discovery. Happy viewing.

The description is :

"With its legendary mix of unique technology and awesome performance, Mazda’s coupe is unlike any other. Mike finds one that appears to have nothing wrong with it and challenges Edd to make a good car even better. But these cars are complex and unforgiving. So while Edd handles with care, Mike sorts out some stylish mods to make the RX7’s looks match its performance."

Mine will be the blue one you see at the start.  Some of the work on the project car was done by WGT who look after my two rotaries.

After this, several million more people will know what an RX7 is.

As above no ridges or cunks taken out please call on 01329235673 with price please thanks

Rather than send my RX8 housings for porting in the US, it was cheaper for me to get some sent over, already ported. That means I have two spares.

Pip Gardner at WGT has them. Give him a call or leave your details here and I can ask him to contact you.

They used mine, an unmodified blue 2000 RS. It was a good day out and I was well looked after by the crew.  I got to see some Aventadors and McLaren P1\'s testing.

I\'ll let you know when the show is going out, not supposed to say yet.

Have you got all your modifications declared on your Insurance? Thought is ask as I don\'t think anyone else has

I have all mods declared and go for "agreed value" wherever possible. This makes a big difference if you ever need to claim.

Without this, there are so few RX7s for sale at any one time that nothing will match your particular car. The engineer appointed by the insurers is very unlikely to know the relative value of yours.  You may want to point them to an importer e.g. Newera to get an estimated value.
