just a silly thought crossed my mind today while looking at my mazda 3 sport that needs an engine rebuild...and then looked at the rx8 engine sitting in my garage...has anyone done a rotaty 3??
-
Been done to death I think
-
ive seen that, but its a spaceframed rwd car. i was thinking more like fitting it fwd instead of the 16v vvt motor thats in there.
-
Gotcha.....
Certainly be an interesting build.
Exhausts straight out and under the car. Might need a bit of a shimmy to miss the drivers side half shaft.
Definitely different. I like it.
You feeling brave ?? Lol

This guy put a 13b in a transverse layout but I think for a rear engine, same principle. It's very home brewed.
I've seen a few 13b Honda civics on Google, not sure how that works as I think Honda cranks spin opposite way I.e. Engine on passenger side in fwd layout.
Can't find any more atmo

Definately need some sump mods I think, casting my mind back to Jons problems with oil surge on bends, you'll get it all the while with braking.

when i take the engine out i might drop the rotary in the hole and see how it looks.

take some pics would you please?
