Tim Porter, Jap Village in Horsham, Sussex.

I guess they got it going in the end then...

Think the ad on autotrader went some thing along the lines of "800hp 3 rotor pink panther - £29,995".

I\'d suggest getting a dyno print of the actual power though as its no way making that (it had a to4e, may be an r on it)! Probably bite your hand off if you offered him £20K...

Forget what year it is, its got the old abflug or autoexe nose and skirts on it from recollection. MoTeC M800 and advan rims are nice.

It was some time ago I saw it, but to be honest that car was in a state.  Not nice at all.  Plus, I have my own opinions on that particular company which would put me off somewhat!

Just read REDLINE. The tech spec is JOKE!!!
For Example:-
Ported and polished HEAD
HKS T88 (Greddy do the T88 and I dont tjhnk it even has a T88 on it!)
they say the kit is veilside, its not, infact the spec sheet is more bollox than truth.
And I havent even read the article yet!

\'It says 0-60 3.8, 220mph = Forget it!\' (Proven figures obviously)

I wonder if the owners a betting man;)

Sounds about right, makes me laugh that they actually give people advise about RX7\'s and even service and \'tune\' them...

What youve said doesnt really inspire confidence in either the \'magazine\' (does Redline classify as such?) or the owner does it?

Is Jap Village still in existence then?

My brother bought home that mag coz it had a supra he was interested in... it is total GASH.. all of the tech specs in there are just made up on the spot imho... esp the mkiv supra... it\'s total shit :)

As for the pink panther... I like it but I don\'t have 20k to buy it hehe.. rather do mine up for a few k :)

What spec do they say it is, or are you referring to the rubbish that was written in that comic that is Redline?

Mate of mine saw it a couple of weeks ago, said it still had a T04R on it; nice choice of turbo for a 20B...

History.

Every one is entitled to their opinion of course. Not many appear to share yours though - perhaps there are valid reasons for this, dont ya think?

Here is the spec. from their web-site:

Candy Apple Pink Magenta with black trim, Knights body kit with colour coded dash, surround sound system, Heavy engine modifications, Motec M800 ECU, hand made Alloy radiator, huge HKS intercooler, twin plate clutch, polished and ported 1600cc injectors, 3mm drag tips, modified TO4 turbo, full HKS exhaust system, fully adjustable coil overs, 1000 miles on brand new rebuild (build cost £48,000). This car is scary to drive, 1350 kilos, 1 bar boost , a good 750BHP. It has been recorded at 921BHP running NOZ and 2 bar boost, although it can and is being driven every day without problems. This car has been featured in the November 2003 Redline magazine.

I think everyone was having a pop at the "car mag" that is redline and not the motor, obviously a tripple rotor engine is a nice thing to see and not something to be scoffed at!!

I have no  experience with the guys at Jap village.

It amuses me more that people believe it too.

I have seen it, I\'ve watched it running, and I\'ve seen it really on the move.  From what I\'ve seen I\'d say that the spec is probably spot on (Spec on the JV ad).  As for peoples opinions of Jap Village, my friends and I have brought several vehicles from Tim and have had no problems.  People always seem to slag him off, and if you\'ve had a bad experience then fair enough.

Just thought I\'d balance this little argument.  Oh and by the way I was told that Pip (WGT) gave the advice on the engine build.

All I know is that I went in to check out the RX-7\'s when I was buying and he laughed at me and my mate saying we were too young to drive let alone afford to buy one off him (which I thought was rude and havn\'t gone back there). As for the state he sells his cars in I have know idea and wouldn\'t want to say anything against him about that.

Kevin

That is HILARIOUS!

\'Knightsports\' body kit??
\'modified TO4 turbo\' - v. modified if it makes 921 ponies! :rollin

If that car has made 750 I\'ll be amazed - it its made 900+ I\'ll think about giving him my 20B\'s - \'cause he\'s gonna need em running 2bar! The last time it was advertised in the trader it was quoted as 820hp - based on? They guessed!

Seriously, any one who reads that ad or considers buying that car - ask ANY ONE who knows diddly about the 20B first! The car is running a T04R to my knowledge - thats not THAT big a turbo for a 13B let alone a 20B. I have a Pip-built ported 20B with 3mm seals and a turbo \'twice\' the size of a T04R and I dont expect to make any thing like that kind of output...

Ask the man where he got it dyno\'d, for copies of the sheets, 3rd party verification from the RR and see it do it with your own eyes before parting with any cash for that car. Oh, one last thing, ask what they did to the rack/steering to correct the horrendous bump steer that the conversion inherently leaves behind...

:reallymad :reallymad :reallymad :reallymad :reallymad :reallymad
Sorry for the rant but it just p#sses me off when people come out with this kind of (IN MY OPINION!) rubbish and belittle the efforts and achievements of those that are trying to help take the UK\'s Rotary scene forward...

All i want to know is,
where do people get these radar gun spectacles from? If you can "see" that those performance figures are "spot on" then i think i shall invest in a pair so i can see my car doing 0-250mph in 4 seconds. :rollin
