Limited headroom car lifts
« on: December 02, 2017, 04:59:08 PM »
Fitting outs moving along now so it's time for me to be ordering a car lift soon for my second man cave, given headroom's limited at 2.3m the game plan has been to get a scissor lift rather than a two or four poster but I'm open to suggestion if anyone with real world experience can chime in and point me in another direction.
A mobile single post lift would probably make the best use of the room available but I can't see how they can be stable enough for anything other than very minor work, again open to be corrected as I normally use a pit rather than lift.
Regards Kevin

Kev, there's a very current topic running on the RX8 OC forum about scissor lifts, with a few people chiming in with views. Hope this link might work and you may find something useful there:

Thanks Malcolm I'm leaning towards going for this one http://www.automotechservices.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/AS-7530D1.pdf

It's the lowest profile mobile one I can find with a accessible centre section, so allowing me to move it between the main dirty and clean/spray area.

I saw this one in a video via a link on the RX-8 OC topic. Looked a well designed piece of kit. The issue will always be the access allowed by each design of this type of lift. I would love one to use though!
