Ok holy thread resurrection ... But I stumbled across  this wonderful restoration, I was really enjoying it then page 31... Nothing... It stops!!

I hope everything worked out ok ... And there were no issues stopping the resto, apologies if something happened... But does anyone know if it was finished ? Is cliff still on these pages?

It would be good to see the final product

Thanks

Rotary and General Chit-Chat / Re: Rotary Specialist In Scotland ?

I've heard mixed things about the garage in Wishaw, never take a car to get Mot'd there as they'll find things wrong with the car which are perfectly fine. The only person I know who took an FD there to get work done had the engine go shortly afterwards, got it taken back and then it broke again and he had to get the car sent down to england for a proper rebuild.

Pretty sure their main work is on Skylines, supra's etc and they're hesitant about FD's

What is it you're needing to have done or wanting done in the future?  My plan is to drive it down to for example WGT and leave it there to get work done then get a lift down to pick it up.

Hi Gordon, still got your FD??

By the sounds of things this was my FD, a long time ago now.I remember roberto from these forums used marc for a while too.

My engine was only removed by marc and sent south, same with roberto other than some mapping by marc( supervised by rob). He certainly has good car knowledge, but no specialist FD knowledge afaik. His mechanics are either self taught ( probably more knowledgeable than trained mechanics)and normal guys from run of the mill garages directed by marc.

I would leave it there for service or problem diagnosis, however tuning/ rebuilds i would take the time to goto Pip as the results can ve disastrous..... Just dont expect fast service.

P.s marc can talk a good game, which is where most of his buisness comes from.

1st generation RX-7's / indicators not working
« on: May 03, 2015, 08:21:13 PM »
Hi,

After being laid up this winter I took the car a spin and its indicators werent working,  not the stalk or the hazards... nothing :(

So is the likely culprit the relay box under the steering wheel?

Thanks

Hi Rob,

Welcome to 1st gen ownership :) you definitely need to get some pics up soon!!

As for the insurance I went onto moneysupermarket and got fully comp on limited miles for £120 a year, thats with "Flux insurance" not to be confused with Adrian Flux...

I\'d say its definitely worth doing before speaking to Adrian flux, that way your armed with a good price to aim for :)
