^^Next time Pete ;)

I was really pleased that Bash (Barry) and his wife (Kim - I hope I remembered that right  ;)) showed up with their 13b Cosmo. It was a pleasure the meet them both and have a chat about such a rare car. I think he's got a really good example in fantastic looking condition, inside and out. We found ourselves talking to people for most of the day as there was quite some lively interest in our pair of cars.

It was also a lovely surprise to see Jinx (Andrew) come along for a chat too, especially as I haven't seen him for ages  :icon_thumleft:

This was quite a small scale show, but very enjoyable in the warm weather with occasional bursts of sun from between the cloud cover. The Museum had an eclectic mix of steam and other engines on display. "Marshall", a HUGE steam engine was running throughout the day and was immensely impressive for it smooth and quiet running. The flywheel on this enormous triple cylinder engine weighs 18 tons!

Only problem now is that my oil cooler has sprung a leak  :( I won't get a chance to look at it until later in the week, but it's not from any of the pipes or connectors, so must be a hole in the matrix. It's looking like I will need a new cooler....

Brilliant!

The long series 2 cooler that sits under the rad?

If so, I'll give him a call as I'm passing his way(ish) tomorrow on the way to Dorset. Could work out quite well  :icon_thumleft:

Jon - I phoned Tim this morning. No joy, he said the cooler was rotten and junked it, and he doesn't have another one  :(

Thanks for the heads-up tho, could've worked well with my trip today to Dorset.

I think it will be easier to try and source a new one.....

Malcolm....try Colchester Radiator Specialists. If the end tanks are serviceable they might be able to re-core it.

Thanks guys  :icon_thumleft:

I'm back home now and will see if I can remove the cooler to get a better look tomorrow.

Jon - many thanks for the offer, but if the worst comes to the worst, I'll borrow the cooler from KIMI 1!

Andrew - fantastic, I'd completely forgotten about that business in Colchester. I recall speaking to them about 15 years ago concerning a replacement rad for a Honda Aerodeck! I've looked online and see they are located right next door to Braiswick Tyres, who I use to do all my tyre fitting! I must have driven past their place loads of times and never really clocked them  :-[ :)

Oil cooler dropped off at Colchester Radiator Specialists this afternoon for a rebuild. Should take about a week.

Thanks for the reminder Andrew :icon_thumleft:

Got carried away at spotting nasty rusty fasteners under the front of the car, so removed some of the plastic bits to clean them up and replace the fasteners. I then saw some rust on the chassis rails that could do with attention whilst I've got easy access. This is turning into a bigger job  ;) ;D
