hi all, some of you may know that i am a competitior in the european drift championship and compete in a mazda rx7 FD,
i am the only competitor in this championship to run a rotary engined car and after a couple of seasons hard work and development to the car it has all payed off. we managed to get a 3rd place today and finished 3rd overall in the championship and its all thanks to carl hayward and his team of dedicated staff.
this year has been fantastic and carl has worked all the hours possible on the car to ensure its on top form. today we went into the last round at snetterton with a fresh turbo ( gt40/88 ) on my bridgeported 13b and the difference it has made is night and day, it took a little getting used too and at the start i was struggling severly as we had set the boost level at 0.7bar and the car was bogging down in 4th.
with this in mind we decided to up the boost to 1.0bar and upped the tire pressures to 45psi from 40psi and the runs began to flow, i was entering corum at 122mph in 4th and pulling the handbrake to initiate the slide and then planting the right foot through the floor ( pretty hairy at times :eek ). i now feel the balence of power and the cars setup is nearly there and i\'m sure i can carry on getting the results needed to make the little mazda stand out in a sea of nissan silvia\'s and skylines etc.
cheers again to carl hayward, steve garbutt and clive for all the help and support i have recieved this year, results like this would be impossible without your support:yes.
