Thought I’d provide an update on my FC....
Another Summer has gone by, with some 2,500 miles added to the clock since May's MOT.
Only issue – past suspicions of an intermittent clutch fault came to light again with a reluctance to go in to gear in stop/start traffic on a trip back from Gatwick. Suspect pilot bearing. Working fine now but probably time to invest in a clutch kit. Can’t really complain as it is the original clutch.
Other “to do” items:
Aside from the usual Service items:
Exhaust.. Current exhaust is too noisy for my mature years! I want to maintain the twin pipe arrangement. Tempted to go the RB route but keep hesitating at the price. Been thinking about this for the last year but with the clutch issue it makes sense to get this done at the same time. So time to get my act together
Bushes. Some showing signs of wear and time to replace. Have a set from the US so just a case of getting round to it.
Replace inside passenger door handle (which is cracked).
Replace outside drivers door handle. The mechanism cracked on mine last year. Fixed it but I can’t see it lasting too long and there is more play in the handle than there should be.
Replace windscreen washers. Needed to use them more this year and it reminded me how inadequate they are. Have a couple of new Ford Maverick (Escape/Mazda Tribute) ones which should be a direct replacement and give a substantially better coverage.
