Ecu, injectors and mapping.

Fuel system covers injectors. Mapping comes with rebuild.

But ~£350mapping + 350-500 for apexi ecu and commander.

Intercooler and rad off eBay £250 tops. They work, I know they do.

£10,000 is a good number just to get a car ready to go racing. Discs and pads are perishable items so I wouldn\'t add them I to initial cost but a set of good disks is ~£400 pads??? Dunno.

I\'d love to build a race car, maybe I could turn rx4 into one once iv ran 10 seconds up 1/4 mile as that\'s my only goal with that.

£1,000 for a fire extinguisher?!! What a...? Sparco system is about 250€-300€ here...

You need to spend over £1000.00 on bigger decent discs callipers and pads for front of car if you want to be able to race well.
The initial investment has to be there along with cost.
You can buy a lot cheaper in stock size but you will rapidly run out of brakes in a circuit race of around 15 laps.
Track days are no where near as hard on a car cos you can take it easy now and again, but in racing you want to be able to just think about driving an not keep wondering when the brakes are going to fade.
The one thing that makes your car go faster on track more than any other is stopping power, and it inspires confidence in the car more than anything else.

I agree with the brake statement 100%. same consistent braking point lap after lap no fad....my little coltie will close up a much more powerful car under braking....evo brakes on it!...

I agree with Boosted and Carl. With good brakes you can dive to a corner/curve over and over again. And you can overtake with "who has bigger balls" style braking in every lap. Dont have to worry about will it stop or not :)

But cars weight and balance plays big part in that too. :)
