It really sounds epic!!! I recon its because it has long exhaust system. But I think it needs to be redone, its frickin loud! Only revved it up to maybe 2500rpm, I wonder what noise it will make at 10k...

But what really confuses us is that idle is really nice, smooth and in quite low revs. Maybe only 1000-1100rpm...

Makes us wonder how "mild" ports and port timing Carl did..? I quess he does know what he is doing, so no worrys there. Afterall, bro asked him to do max rev range and torque, not max power...

But you cant believe our filings now! One big step forward was agognizing 5 year wait... To this point it has been really epic journey, and its only just has begun basically! So that you for your support!!!
Braplife and rotarded for life!!!

Port timing on a PP... well the port is never actually ever closed is it the apex seal is what would close but they're only 2mm wide. So I would say you have 359.8 degrees of inlet timing

From what I can remember carl does 2 different port shapes on a PP, one is a squared of corners port, which gives max power max inlet etc and a D shape port which is more for a less of an extreme engine, more of an endurance engine so I'm guessing yours is the D shape port.

What size were the PP inlets welded too the housings? I'm prett certain Carla largest ones are either 62 or 64 mm diameter?

Are you using IDA carbs? If so what size are they?

Can't say what timing you need to put into it if the engine is running hot, I would suggest a call to Carl and he will point you in the right direction

What length have you done the primary exhaust headers before merging them into one? Varying lengths have a great effect, I learnt all this stuff years ago as my Rx4 was meant to be PP bit I've forgotten it all now! I had even contacted racing beat for advice and got a couple of emails from Jim Merderer himself!
