« on: October 23, 2017, 04:43:11 PM »
This is my mates car for sale owned over a year...
avon zv5s all round, recent fron n rear pads long mot, new cat and d585s with magnecor leads.
has a nice st/st cat back...he seems to think its a Piper X....i like just a bit louder than standard.
rear tints in back window and sides done about 2 months ago.

Ive just driven the car and gave it a hooning and cant fault it drives very nice straight n true. brakes grip all good.

Hot start was good.

he bought it and seller said engine was replaced with a good spare 18 months ago.

No comp results but nothing to hide if you fancy testing yourself.

Bodywise its nice no rust and wheels are corrosion free as strakes leather and flip key.

if interest pm and ill give you his number...asking £1200 ono reason for sale is scratched the itch time to move on...
My mate is an Mechanic and Mot tester so bought to learn abit more about them.
Car in Wiltshire.

Managed to get a gearbox for my ca Colt gti 1993 ....( using online info satria gearboxes fit as essentially colts rebadged as proton satrias)...
so ive got the right gearbox and my old gearbox is out and on the garage floor.....however....replacement is cable operated and i need slave cylinder operated....the bell housing casting is different in the this 1 area alone....
so question...can i swap bell housing? i can strip duff box as dead anyway but if i pull bell housing off im not gonna gears and shafts falling out everywhere?

my car is 1 of 11 left so all though worthless i wanna save it and she goes well and this is actually her first breakdown as me as owner and in fact apart from the racket and lack of reverse gear still drives....
stripped plenty of gearboxes at work over the years just not a car gearbox...ratios are identical box is identical in every way except cable versus slave....

Well as i was the only MRC member to attend as a guest of rx80c due to Bylton date clash ill say it was a very good day...
we where in the same spot as last years Forge behind the pitlane which was great for viewing the track under the gazebo or roof of the Tavern...when it rained on and off all

I was hanging from day before at Thruxton...215 on track miles shared by Me and My mate Brad....not keen on being a

but event well attended and saw some new cars I went out on track only once i chickened out of 2nd session due to being very tired and heavens opening in pitlane and due to the fact my daily is broke...( Scooby wagon in for a recall next week to check lower front suspension arms, returning from Thruxton with no issues got to move the scooby to unload and park the trailer i drove off my drive and said suspension arm snapped in half...wheel poking out and jammed in wing...not good...messed about for an hour with skates to move it out the way! so no video im afraid as totally done it by the time sorted that out).

First session all good bedding in the new what a tyre....cant wait to get some for the rear....Rocket did its thing on track as normal...flying but still 300ml in catch tank by end......

Left late in the day as last RX8oc session at 4.15.... Brad went out on both session and had a good time...thanks to the RX8oc for letting us play.  :13:

hope all at Bylton had a good day and us MRC members got some trophys :sign0098:
